This is the magazine cover that a few weeks ago was banned from many newsstands and supermarket shelves. I mean, the subject matter is pretty confronting when you first glimpse Dazed & Confused with rapper Azealia Banks, but once you realise it’s a condom (albeit one that’s designed to shock) it somehow doesn’t seem so bad. Granted, I haven’t read the accompanying article, so who knows if there’s a poignant commentary on safe sex in amongst the sensationalism, but the issue also features a write-up on Pussy Riot and, with all the furor over “legitimate” rape and pregnancy at the moment, it couldn’t have come at a more susceptible time.
