Fluffy Friday: I Am (Cat)Woman, Hear Me Purr.

So this weekend is Halloween, which just so happens to be my birthday (technically, it’s November 2), and for the third year running I am throwing a Halloween party. Most of my guests’ costumes will be a surprise to me, but I’ve had my heart set on Catwoman since the beginning of the year, and everyone knows it. And what better to inspire me than these different incarnations of Batman’s foe? And a special thanks to my friend Suzie, who dressed as one of the hottest Catwomen I’ve seen!

Happy Halloween!

Fluffy Friday: Quirky Cards.

The other day, after the purchase of a card with a little Native American boy on the front (bottom right), I was asked by a friend if I collect cards.

I’ve never really consciously gone about collecting cards, but rifling through my growing collection for this compilation, I guess you could say I’m a greeting card afficionado, along with book ends, perfume bottles, pairs of animals (Noah’s ark style), mugs, books and magazines!

Here are just a few from the collection…

Fluffy Friday: Fairground.

This week’s theme is the much-loved fairgroundor carousel, more to the point.

All photographs come from design website Abduzeedo.

Fluffy Friday: Rock(well) With You.

This week’s fluff comes courtesy of Norman Rockwell, whose vintage paintings and imagery I can’t get enough of.

Fluffy Friday: Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“Tiffany blue”, deriving it’s name from the little (or big, depending on your income) blue Tiffany’s jewellery box, is my absolute favourite colour. So much so, that I decorated my bedroom, and now apartment, around that one little box housing a pendant I got for my 21st.

This week’s Fluffy Friday marks my first foray into photographing my own contributions to the column, and you will be able to tell which are mine from the shocking quality – gotta love it when your digital camera dies and leaves you only with your phone.

Yes, the theme extends as far as my crockery. (Cutlery is pink polka dots, btw.)

Fluffy Friday: Scarlet Woman

Red is one of my favourite colours (watch this space, as next week I unveil cute pics featuring my other favourite colour…), as well as my namesake.

So, I thought, what better way to celebrate the intensity and passion of red than pictorially, starting with the quintessential scarlet woman, Marilyn Monroe, exploring decadent toffee apples and strawberries, the allure of “something old” in red pumps and a candy-striped vintage tin, and ending with the clichéd, but still my favourite, red rose.

Fluffy Friday

Regular visitors to this blog will have noticed that Mondays are book review day, “On the Net” takes up the majority of mid-week posts, and the new “Mag Cover of the Week” resides on Fridays.

Last Friday also featured Hot Guys Reading Books, as part of a “fuss-free way to segue into the weekend.”

Which brings me to the latest addition to the blog: “Fluffy Friday”.

Basically an amalgamation of pretty things to inspire for the weekend ahead, each post with follow a theme. This week’s? Fun, frivilous fluff, what else?
